Retentive crowns and preparation of bridge abutments

Predictable results with the right instruments

Why do bridges detach themselves from the distal abutment every now and then? Which crowns have to be fastened by means of an adhesive procedure, and which ones can be cemented according to traditional methods without loss of retention? A preparation always constitutes the counterpart of the instrument used. The choice of the correct instrument and its proper guidance are therefore essential for the success of a preparation that meets the specifications and guarantees a predictable treatment result.
